Identity Theft ResourcesThere are many resources out there that can help you recover from or learn about identity theft, identity theft insurance and identity theft protection. The FTC's website is probably the first place to check. You can visit their site at http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/. They have lots of information and statistics about identity theft. You can keep your information secure by investing in some software programs. That way, if you have a poor memory, you can store your information in a secure database and just worry about remembering one password. Do not write down your personal information and keep it in your purse or wallet. There is nothing more destructive that you can do. Make sure that your password is very hard to guess. Don't choose a word you'd find in the dictionary. Choose something that's nonsensical on the surface but has meaning for you. Something like IWPAS345: I Walk Past A Store and the address is 345 blah blah blah street. Your best defense, in the end though, is knowledge. You can read forever and never stop. Just go online or visit your local bookstore and search for identity theft informations just like what you are reading right now.
